Suyash Bhate calls himself a “Manu-Chain Enthusiast” and works as an Industrial and Mechanical Engineer. Currently, he pursues a Master’s in Integrated Manufacturing and Systems Engineering. He applies his academic foundation to real-world challenges in supply chain logistics and lean manufacturing. Moreover, he leverages expertise in additive manufacturing to optimize design, production, and distribution processes.

His interests center on strategic sourcing, supplier collaboration and workflow optimization. Therefore, he transforms complex challenges into structured and efficient solutions. Additionally, he ensures that processes remain cost-effective, reliable, scalable and sustainable. Bhate strengthens organizations with skills in supply chain logistics, lean practices and product testing. Consequently, he improves operations while minimizing waste and maximizing value. He views modern supply chains as ecosystems of innovation and trust. Thus, he balances data-driven decision-making with hands-on validation. He bridges engineering, operations, and procurement to deliver measurable value at every step.

Outside of work, he enjoys F1, snooker and fitness.

Internship Details

Bhate works at Atmus Filtration Technologies in Cookeville, TN as a strategic sourcing specialist. Some highlights from his experience include:

  • Developed and implemented a custom analytical tool to benchmark cabin air filters, boosting evaluation accuracy by 10% and reducing testing time by 15%.
  • Identified and qualified 20+ high-performance aftermarket parts, enhancing quality by 7% through supplier benchmarking, product validation and cost-performance analysis.
  • Managed global logistics across 5+ regions, achieving on-time delivery and strengthening inventory availability.
  • Revised the aftermarket catalog by consolidating vendor information and integrating PLM system data, increasing part traceability by 25%.

Before attending NC State, Bhate worked at two companies. The first was Fleetguard Filters Private Limited in Pune, India. There, he was a process development associate, and his achievements included:

  • Spearheaded continuous improvement initiatives on the production line, driving a 10% increase in operational efficiency through process optimization and lean methodologies.
  • Applied 8D problem solving and root cause analysis to resolve customer complaints, implementing corrective actions that strengthened product quality by 20% and reduced recurring faults by 95%.
  • Conducted ergonomics assessment and redesigned workstations to improve operator safety by at least 15 % and guarantee 100% OSHA compliance on the shop floor.

The second internship was at Sarvaay Solutions LLC in Pune, India. There, he worked as an operations improvement intern. His accomplishments included:

  • Designed and deployed a poly-house dryer, reducing bagasse drying time by 69% (from 16 hours to 5 hours) while improving drying efficiency, cutting energy consumption, and lowering operational costs by 20%.
  • Enhanced energy efficiency by 25% through optimization of the thermal systems design.
  • Conducted root cause analysis and performance testing to upgrade throughput and reduce inefficiencies.
